Founder, CHIEF BUTT KICKER
Sheila Kim is the founder of JabX Kickboxing Fitness. An ISSA certified personal trainer, Sheila has been a certified instructor for multiple kickboxing and bootcamp programs since 2012. Her passion for fitness and love for kickboxing led her to create JabX in 2015, an intense, stress-blasting, fun workout that helped countless people get into shape. She changes her program daily to provide maximum cross training benefits and is always developing new ways to keep things fresh and challenging.
Sheila was the first runner-up of 2014’s King 5’s Best of Western Washington “Best Fitness Instructor” category, and the first Washington State Fitness Movemeant Ambassador for The Movemeant Foundation. In 2017, she was featured in Seattle Magazine's "Tips From Seattle's Top Trainers" (Feb 2017 printed edition).
Axel’s kickboxing journey started in 2015 after a knee injury prompted him to look for an alternative means to stress relief. He quickly fell in love with the challenging workout and noticed immediate changes in his physique. In 2016 Axel took his love for kickboxing to the next level and began his kickboxing instructor training as well as his personal training certification. He enjoys helping and motivating others to share his enthusiasm for fitness.
CJ James, a Seattle native, is a NASM certified personal trainer, her passion for health and fitness pushed her to pursue a career in fitness full time. She left her corporate life behind and joined the JabX teams in West Hollywood, CA and Bellevue, WA. She has experience in a wide variety of fitness, such as Crossfit, kickboxing, yoga, and weight training.
She believes everyone should try out new things to keep them active and motivated to stay fit and healthy. She enjoys training and living an active lifestyle. Not only for physical reasons but for mental wellness.
Outside of the gym life, she enjoys snowboarding, online gaming, and hanging out with her "parkour pup", Marley. She's quick to smile and prides herself on her loud laugh.
Christine, an ISSA certified personal trainer, is a proponent of holistic health and firmly believes physical wellness is intricately connected to mental strength and resiliency. She has continuously pursued physical fitness throughout her life, beginning with Taekwondo at the age of nine. Her particular enjoyments include swimming, strength training, dancing... pretty much anything that does not require the usage of flying balls. Above all, she enjoys kickboxing.
Christine is currently an art therapist/clinical mental health counselor working with incarcerated populations. In her free time you can find her at a coffee shop somewhere with her book of poems and sketches.
Although born in Palm Springs, California, Mason Kim considers the Emerald City his home. Mason’s passion for martial arts began at a young age. He started with Tae Kwon Do and quickly received a black belt at the young age of ten. After high school, he went on to study Muay Thai in Thailand, trained in Judo in Japan and studied Wing Chun in Taiwan. He returned to the states `in 2016 and has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Kron and Kauan Gracie at Gracie North and Andre Lannertone at Gracie Academy. He is also a practitioner of movement under Ido Portal and attended Movement Camp in April of 2017 in Thailand.
Mason joined JabX to supplement his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a striking art but fell in love with the program and the coaches. In his free time, Mason makes music and spins as a resident DJ at Contour and KremWerk.
Flávia Carli Azevedo
Flávia moved from Brazil to Bellevue in late 2017. She started Muay Thai classes in 2010 and her passion for kickboxing has never stopped.
Believing that Kickboxing is an activity for all ages, she knows it can help one’s life in many ways. For the body it helps with weight loss, muscle tone, physical condition and motor coordination. For the mind it helps to relax and relieve everyday stress .
Flávia brings her experience with Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, and music and she has always loved dancing samba.
Shogo joined JabX with a U.S. Army background. He served as an Army officer with deployments to Afghanistan and South Korea. While in South Korea, Shogo built on his childhood Taekwondo training and achieved black belt at an accelerated pace. He is an avid believer of “you get what you put in”, and commits nothing short of maximum effort at any task, especially when it comes to fitness. Whenever you see Shogo attend a class, expect to see sweat dripping on the floor.
Shogo enjoys martial arts, weight lifting, football (Go Hawks!), soccer, water sports, hiking, reading, and getting his man-tan during the summer months. However, he gets the most enjoyment from helping people achieve their fitness goals.
